In 2023, Animal Welfare United sponsored free dog training classes in our hometown of Rohnert Park, California. These free classes were held twice a week at 3 simultaneous locations for 6 weeks. (That's 36 classes total!) These classes were led by students at Bergin College of Canine Studies as part of their courses in the Bachelor of Science degree program. These classes were attended by members of the pet-owning public, as well as those fostering dogs for local shelters and rescues.Â
The team at Animal Welfare United loves nothing more than the chance to come to your shelter or rescue and find out how we can support YOU. We can write behavior reports for your team, draft handouts and standard operating procedures, and of course we offer staff/volunteer training that is totally customized to your goals, your mission, and your work.
Principal Devan Amundsen has spoken at the Best Friends National Conference in 2022, and at Animal Care Expo in 2023 and 2024. Devan is an instructor at Bergin College of Canine Studies, and has taught over 25% of the courses in the Bachelor of Science degree program. Devan offers webinars and live seminars to the public.
